Land Clearing & Grubbing
Land Clearing and Grubbing in Bozeman
A wooded or overgrown parcel has to be opened up before any grading or foundation work can start. Canyoufeedthedog clears trees and brush, then grubs out the stumps and roots below the surface so they do not rot and leave voids under a future pad. On acreage out toward Four Corners and Gallatin Gateway, we haul off the debris or mulch it on site, whichever fits the lot.
Why Grubbing Is Not Optional
- No buried surprises. Stumps and root balls left in place decompose and settle, which cracks slabs and driveways down the road.
- Clean subgrade. Grubbing gives the grading crew clean, gradeable dirt instead of a field of buried wood.
- Fire and access. Clearing brush also opens driveway routes and defensible space around a Montana build.
Our Process
We call the free 811 utility locate first, drop and remove trees, then grub stumps and roots below grade with the excavator. Debris is chipped on site or hauled off, and we leave the parcel graded rough and ready for the next phase. Clearing runs about $1,400 to $6,200 per acre depending on how heavy the tree cover is.
